Warangal District Gears Up for Massive Paddy Procurement Drive

A high-level video conference on paddy procurement for the Yasangi (Rabi) season was conducted on Friday from Hyderabad, chaired by Telangana state ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy, Tummala Nageshwar Rao, and Ponnam Prabhakar.

They were joined by Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao and Civil Supplies Commissioner D.S. Chauhan. The meeting was attended virtually by district collectors, additional collectors, and officials from the Civil Supplies Department. Warangal District Collector Dr. Satya Sharada, speaking from the district headquarters, briefed the ministers on the ongoing procurement efforts. She reported that out of the projected target of 2 lakh metric tonnes of paddy for the 2024-25 Rabi season, nearly 87,000 metric tonnes have already been procured from 182 centres across the district. She confirmed that all arrangements for smooth functioning at procurement centres are in place, and daily monitoring is being conducted. Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy highlighted
