Vijayawada Division undertakes Special Summer Relief Measures to tackle Passenger Rush

Gauging the increased travel demand during the summer season, South Central Railway’s Vijayawada Division has implemented special measures, ensuring smooth and comfortable travel for passengers.

Recognizing the surge in passenger movement, Vijayawada Division has deployed 64 Originating Summer Special Trains and 276 En-route Summer special trains during the April-2025. In the month of May 2025, around 44 Originating Specials, and 222 En-route Summer Special trains shall be deployed to cater to the summer rush. Moreover, to cater to the growing rush, several express trains have been augmented with 230 extra coaches, effectively increasing seating capacity and reducing congestion in popular services.
