US helped a lot in bringing about ceasefire between India, Pak; helped avert nuclear war: President Trump

US President Donald Trump today said the US “helped a lot” in bringing about the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, and added that the US “stopped a nuclear conflict, | think it could have been a bad nuclear war’.

In a statement to the media, the US President also said that a trade deal with India was nearing, and that the US would also have a trade deal with Pakistan.

“On Saturday, my Adminis-tration helped broker a full and immediate ceasefire — | think a permanent one — between India and Pakistan, ending a dangerous conflict of two nations with lots of nuclear weapons... they were going out hot and heavy and were seemingly not going to stop
