POLAVARAM COTTON SAREE becomes the 22nd Geographical Indication to be filed from Andhra Pradesh

Resolute4IP in a recent development filed an application to for Geographical Indication Registration of Polavaram Cotton Sarees.

The application has been numbers as 1539 and filed on 19 May 2025. This is the 22nd Gl application from the state of AP. Before this, Madahavmala Wood Carvings and Palamner Terracota have been filed.
Subhajit Saha, GI practitioner filed the GI application for Polavaram Cotton Handloom Weavers Mutually Aided Co operative Society Limited. Currrently, 1547 Applications have been filed in India with 697 Gls registered as on date.
Mr Saha, mentioned that there are 3 More prodcuts in the the pipeline to be filed shorlty making it to the 25 Gls from the state of AP.
