Forest Officials' Attack on Tribal Hamlets Sparks Outrage in Mulugu

Adivasi leaders in Mulugu district have strongly condemned recent attacks by forest officials on tribal hamlets in Eturunagaram mandal.

The raids, which reportedly took place two days ago in Shankarrajupalli village's Komuram Bheem Koyagudem area, have drawn sharp criticism from tribal representatives who termed the actions “a disgrace to the state government.” Kotha Surender, district president of the Adivasi Nayakapod Association, visited the affected tribal families and addressed a gathering. He asserted that under the Fifth Schedule of the Indian Constitution, tribal communities in agency areas such as Mulugu possess legitimate rights over their land, resources, and forest produce.
