Flood situation continued to remain grim in Assam, with over 3 lakh people reportedly affected by the floods in 17 districts of the state on Monday, even as the human casualty due to floods has increased to 7.

Apart from the seven persons who died in the flood, five other people died due to a landslide in Assam’s capital town, Guwahati, last week.
The Assam State Disaster Management Authority on Monday said that surging floodwaters have inundated 758 villages in the 17 districts, affecting a total of 364,046 people, including children and women.
