617th Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Tallapaka Annamacharya

The 617th birth anniversary of the revered poet-saint Tallapaka Annamacharya was celebrated with grandeur at Ravindra Bharathi Auditorium, Hyderabad, under the auspices of Srirama Cultural Organization.

The event was marked by scholarly discussions, book launches, and devotional music, all commemorating the legacy of the “Prapradhama Vaggeyakara” of Telugu devotional poetry.

The celebrations highlighted Annamacharya’s immense contribution to Telugu literature and devotional music. Speakers unanimously acknowledged him as a timeless figure whose literary and musical compositions continue to inspire generations.

As part of the event, two commentary books authored by eminent scholar Venkat Garikapati “Sriramabhiramam” and “Rajivanetraya Raghavaya” were formally released.

Dr. K.I. Varaprasad Reddy, Padma Bhushan awardee and Chairman of Shantha Biotechnics, attended as the Chief Guest. He praised Garikapati’s tireless efforts in bringing Annamayya’s lyrical compositions and philosophical insights to the public, calling his service laudable and impactful.
