'Several learners struck with various objects, including hockey stick'
POLICE are investigating a case of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm after a 16-year-old Grade 10 learner was filmed being beaten with sticks at Milnerton High School.
The incident, believed to be part of an initiation ritual, allegedly involved several Grade 10 learners being assaulted by Grade 11 boys, some identified as members of the school's first-team rugby squad. In the widely circulated video, a pupil is seen being struck repeatedly with a stick while others look on. The assault reportedly took place on Thursday, October 16, during school hours.
