Khayelitsha's Mzoe Ceramics shines at National Arts Festival

MZOE Ceramics, an artisan brand founded in 2010 by Siviwe Sydney Bobotyana in Khayelitsha, made its debut at the prestigious National Arts Festival in Makhanda.

Bobotyana, a self-taught ceramic artist inspired by his late father who was also a potter, was supported by the Small Enterprise Development and Finance Agency (Sefda), Khayelitsha Branch, which enabled his participation at the festival.

As a first-time vendor at the event, Bobotyana's handcrafted ceramics were well received by both local and international visitors. His unique blend of traditional African ceramic techniques with contemporary design captured the attention of art lovers, collectors, and buyers from various markets.
