Teen 'out of danger' after being hit by stray bullet

A GRADE 7 learner from Leonsdale in Elsies River had to undergo emergency surgery after he was hit by a stray bullet in the stomach while on his way to school on Tuesday morning.
The 14-year-old boy is in hospital after he undergoing stoma surgery, which involves creating an opening in the abdomen that allows faeces or urine to exit the body, as his vital organs were damaged during the shooting.
When the Cape Argus' sister newspaper, the Daily Voice spoke to his father, he said he and his wife were on their way back to the hospital after spending the night at their son's bedside.
