THE use of the “K” word by a Cabinet minister in the Government of National Unity reminds us that black dignity is worthless. It is a painful jolt that racism continues to rear its ugly head.
Systemic racism continues to cause incalculable harm across the nation. But racism is a global reality. We should start by understanding that it requires a worldwide response. It is often said that legal prohibitions on racist behaviour cannot eliminate the attitudes that underlie such behaviour.
