Police targeted in brazen Elsies River shooting

POLICE came under fire in Elsies River yesterday as a police vehicle was struck by a bullet while officers responded to a shooting in Clark Estate.
The shocking incident unfolded on Old Stellenbosch Road when police rushed to reports of gunfire and were met by a hostile crowd, with shots ringing out and one bullet hitting a police vehicle, yesterday.
Police spokesperson Constable Ndakhe Gwala said: “Elsies River Police attended a complaint of a shooting in progress at Old Stellenbosch Road, Clark Estate.
