Cunard’s Queen Anne cruise ship arrives in Cape Town

April 10, 2025

CAPE Town’s harbour will welcome the Queen Anne, Cunard’s newest luxury liner, for the very first time on Thursday April 10.

- SARENE KLOREN

The ship’s arrival is set to make waves – quite literally – as road traffic in and around the CBD, particularly near the Foreshore and V&A Waterfront, is expected to be busier than usual, due to the influx of guests and cruise-related activity.

The stop marks a historic moment in maritime travel, as Queen Anne docks in Cape Town Cruise Terminal just days after arriving in Durban on April 7.

She is currently on her 107-night maiden world voyage, which set sail from Southampton in January and includes visits to 30 ports across 18 countries.

With a capacity to host 2 996 passengers and 1 225 crew members, Queen Anne is the largest ship in Cunard’s fleet to have completed a full circumnavigation of the globe.
