Key looking for response after defeat

SOHAM Town Rangers boss Lance Key has urged his side to prevent “another run of losing games” by bouncing back from last weekend’s defeat to Laken-heath at Walsham Le Willows tomorrow.

- By STEPHEN PAGE stephen.page@reachplc.com @stephenpage22

The second-placed Greens suffered a 3-2 loss at home to their bottom-of-the-table visitors on Saturday, with Rangers playing most of the contest with ten men following Seth O’Neill’s dismissal in the opening ten minutes.

The defeat brought an end to a five-game winning streak for Soham in all competitions. Earlier in the campaign, the Greens won seven on the bounce before a 3-2 loss at Cornard United sparked a four-match losing run in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division, and Key has called on his side to avoid a repeat.

Looking ahead to tomorrow's encounter against their fifth-placed opponents, the Greens’ manager told his club following Saturday's loss: “Obviously we'd love to have gone into that game with three points today, that’s not the case, but again we have to pick ourselves up, and hopefully we don’t start another run of losing games.

“We've got to make sure that we can bounce back from this straight away this time, but Walsham won't be easy.
