Residents ask mayor: Remove obstruction on our road

RESIDENTS of Purok Keon, in barangay Bitnong, Dupax del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya, have formally sought government intervention over the alleged obstruction of an established road easement leading to their community.

- By JONATHAN L. Mayuca X @jonlmayuga

They raised concerns that the continued road blockade, which they believe is connected to anti-mining protests in the area, may constitute an unlawful restriction of access and a potential violation of property and civil rights.

In a petition submitted to Dupax del Norte Mayor Juan Paolo E. Cayton, 100 residents detailed claims that barricades were installed along the road easement by individuals who the petitioners said were not even from their communities, limiting ingress and egress for families in the area.
