BURTON Albion boss Gary Bowyer has spoken of the importance of the club’s “togetherness with the supporters’ as his side prepare to return to League One action at Stevenage.
The 17th-placed Brewers take on their fifth-placed hosts at the Lamex Stadium in a lunchtime kickoff tomorrow.
Burton sit one point above the relegation zone at present, with Albion having finished the past two campaigns one and two points above the dotted line.
Bowyer praised the club's fans for their backing, as well as for their understanding of where the Brewers’ are currently situated in League One.
“I've been very fortunate, and Pat's (Lyons) been very fortunate, since we came in that the supporters have been very supportive, and they've played their part massively so,” Bowyer, who celebrated a year in charge at Albion on Wednesday, said at a press conference last week.
“I think I've mentioned it before, they're an intelligent bunch our supporters, because they understand that we're not going to outspend, so as long as they see players running hard, fighting for the shirt.
