Nursery owner left 'truly humbled' to receive BEM

MEDAL PRESENTED FOR SERVICES TO EARLY YEARS AND CHILDCARE
A BURTON man said he was 'humbled' to receive a British Empire Medal (BEM) at a special ceremony.
Philip Siddell, 75, was awarded the BEM for services to the early years and childcare sectors.
On June 17 he attended a special ceremony hosted by the chairman of Staffordshire County Council at County Buildings in Stafford to be presented with his medal.
He is the co-owner of Humpty Dumpty Day Nurseries Ltd alongside his wife Carol, as well as being a trustee for the National Day Nursery Association (NDNA).
The pair live on Woodhouses in Yoxall, which is also the site of one of the two Humpty Dumpty Day nurseries.
Philip said: said: "I've felt privileged to work in such a worthwhile sector with such friendly colleagues since joining Humpty Dumpty Day Nurseries, the business founded by my wife some 38 years ago.
