Not the best start but Crofters get job done in victory

BURTON opened their Regional 1 North West campaign with a 22-19 home win against Stockport.

It was the Crofters' first game in this division after moving over from Regional 1 Midlands, where they finished fourth last season, and it was also their annual “Party on the Pitch” event at Battlestead Croft.
Entry was free as the club gave the community a chance to check out the facilities, with live music and craft stalls also part of the day.
But it wasn't the most spectacular rugby on show when the Crofters' first team took the field.
