INCREASED CUSTOMER DEMAND HAS HELPED TO BOOST GROWTH

A SOUTH Derbyshire manufacturer has posted its best ever year, with demand from customers for more automation and a boom in defence spending driving growth.

Carfulan Group, which operates from a £3 million Advanced Innovation Centre in Foston, has seen a 17 per cent increase in sales to £22.3 million over the last 12 months.

Run by brothers Chris and Matt Fulton, the company supports more than 500 clients to work smarter and faster by giving them access to multi-sensor measurement, 3D printing, turned part measurement, and optical measurement solutions.

The final solution in its portfolio is Zoller UK a specialist range of tool presetting, inspection and storage products. Here, the firm has enjoyed the biggest upturn in fortunes with an 81 per cent year-on-year increase in sales.

To cope with the surge in demand, Carfulan Group has created eight new jobs, taking its total workforce to 59.
