Gary: That one was all about the players
Burton Mail
|October 02, 2025
MANAGER Gary Bowyer insisted all the credit belonged to the Burton Albion players after they picked themselves up from Saturday's 4-0 defeat to Plymouth Argyle to secure a 1-0 win away to Cardiff City on Tuesday night.
The Brewers had to defend for long periods but they often looked threatening on the counter and had their reward in the 82nd minute when Charlie Webster found the corner of the net from 12 yards after Cardiff could not clear an Alex Hartridge long throw.
"The credit all goes to the players because Saturday wasn't the standard, wasn't what we were about, and we knew we were coming to a very, very difficult place," said Bowyer.
"We knew we were up against it. We knew we wouldn't have a lot of the ball.
