BUT BOSS SAYS IT WILL TAKE TIME FOR CLARK TO SETTLE

- By LEIGH CURTIS

JOHN Eustace believes Bobby Clark's arrival will help "evolve" Derby County's playing style but feels it will take him a while to reach full match fitness.

Derby swooped for the former Liverpool midfielder last week on a season-long loan from RB Salzburg, making him the ninth signing of the summer.

Clark is an attacking midfielder and Rams head coach Eustace says the player's technical ability will help Derby become more fluid in possession.

"Bobby will help us evolve as a footballing team," said Eustace.

"We want to try to change our style of play and not be as direct as we were last year but that's going to be given time.

"That is a slow process and it's about winning games at the end of the day.

"But we do want to change our style and that's why we brought in two or three players now who can handle the ball a little bit better than possibly others.

"Bobby will certainly fit that mould and we've got to get him up to speed.

"He hasn’t had any minutes. I think he had about 10 minutes against us in a friendly and that’s the only playing time he’s had.
