'Driver didn't see man she knocked over on crossing'

A PEDESTRIAN was hospitalised when he was flipped into the air after being struck by an Audi driver as he walked across a pedestrian crossing.
Derby Crown Court heard how mother-of-one Jesna Bijoy “did not slow down” before colliding with the man.
In an interview, the 39-year-old software engineer, of Littleover, told officers she “did not see” the victim before her car hit him with such force that he struck the windscreen and the roof before landing on the road.
And a scan at the Royal Derby Hospital revealed he has suffered two fractured vertebrae and had to have a metal rod fitted to his finger, which was also broken.
