CEREMONY TO CELEBRATE STAFFORDSHIRE DIGNITY IN CARE CHAMPIONS
A CARER in Burton has been recognised for her years of service at a glittering awards ceremony.
Karen Allen, who works at Horninglow Bungalows, which offers a supported living environment for up to 16 adults with a learning disability and/or autism, was one of 17 from across the county who received a gong at the Staffordshire Dignity in Care Awards.
She scooped the new long service accolade for dedicating her entire working life to adult social care, boosting confidence and self-esteem in others by actively listening and helping them to achieve their aspirations.
Karen has taken individuals to concerts, and even helped one person fulfil their dream of flying a plane.
The event was held at the Staffordshire County Showground on July 17, and winners were joined by their colleagues, family, community groups and care organisations.
