YEAR OF FUNDRAISERS AT BURTON ATTRACTION IN AID OF BID TO BUILD HOLIDAY VILLAGE FOR POORLY CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES
A BURTON adventure farm has thrown its support behind a project to build the UK's first holiday village for critically ill children and their families.
The National Forest Adventure Farm, in Tatenhill, is hoping to raise thousands of pounds through charity events this year for the new holiday park, called Kids' Village.
Plans to build the village were approved after being donated a piece of land in Wychnor, not far from Burton, by a local farmer.
It is looking to raise £5 million to build the village, which will offer 10 four-bedroom holiday lodges to provide 4,000 families with a place to reconnect, make memories and relax away from the stresses of life with a critical illness.
Tom Robinson, below, who owns the National Forest Adventure Farm with his brother Ivor, said when they heard about the Kids' Village mission, they wanted to do what they could to help.
