'Project will make a real difference for families and children'
IT is hoped that a £300,000 six-week project will improve safety for families and cyclists in Burton.
Work is set to begin this weekend on installing a new parallel crossing to improve safety for children and families walking to and from Shobnall Nursery and Primary School.
Also as part of the scheme, a new shared footpath and cycleway will be installed by Staffordshire County Council’s highways crews to bridge the gap in the National Cycle Network (NCN) 54 between the A38 overpass and Shobnall Leisure Complex.
There will additionally be upgrades to two bus stops, traffic signs and road markings.
