Strong backing for proposal to run fast ferries across Bristol Channel

PLANS to launch a new ferry service across the Bristol Channel have received overwhelming support from the public following a recent consultation.

Swansea Council commissioned the study which revealed 98 per cent of the 4,400 respondents backed the concept of a fast boat linking South Wales to the South West.
The local authority has drafted a memorandum of understanding with maritime company Ocean Prime to develop the project further despite questions remaining over infrastructure.
