Recovery Big Issue seller hopes to return following cancer battle

BRISTOL Big Issue seller is hoping to return to selling on the street after battling prostate cancer.
Bob Sheppard is a familiar face in the city having been a Big Issue vendor since 1994, most recently outside the Co-Op in Clarence Place, Kingsdown.
After over a year’s worth of treatment, the 65-year-old is confident he’s cancer free, and eager to get back to selling the magazine which had provided him with an income for 31 years.
“I haven’t had that news from the doctors yet but I think it’s [the cancer] gone,” Bob said. “I’m not having to go to the toilet every night. My own body says it’s gone, I do believe if you're in tune with your body then you’re usually dead-on.”
