Rasemene's an all-round star as Knowle hit the top

KNOWLE began the day third in WEPL's Bristol & North Somerset division but ended it on pole position after thumping Bristol 2nds and the top two of Bristol West Indian Phoenix and Twyford House both lost.

- Steve HILL

South African Andrew Rasemene had a day to remember, contributing an unbeaten 65 off 47 balls at number eight, and then producing a devastating opening burst of 4-12 from five overs. Jai Kumar top-scored on 94 in Knowle's challenge of 246-7 after losing the toss, while Bristol, in reply, never recovered from a nightmare start at 17-5, as Joe Brimble followed up Rasemene’s efforts with a spell of 3-17.

BWIP's run of four successive wins came to an end with a 118-run home defeat against Bradley Stoke & Almondsbury who, in the process, went from eighth to fifth.

Cam Hawkins totally dominated the visitors’ challenge of 306-6 with an unbeaten 141 from 137 balls (14 fours, three sixes).

Former skipper Ash Baber's return of 4-52 from 9.2 overs then snuffed out BWIP's reply.

Twyford House went down by two wickets at home to struggling Bedminster 2nds.
