New school sculpture celebrates sign language

A STRIKING new sculpture celebrating British Sign Language and deaf culture has been unveiled at two Bristol schools.

The artwork, titled Hand in Hand, features two treelike structures with branches etched in British Sign Language and trunks imprinted with the handprints of pupils. It now stands in the shared reception area of Elmfield School for Deaf Children and Upper Horfield Community School, offering a powerful symbol of communication, inclusion and creativity.
