Jewson/Hellenic Hallen put eight past Milton to march on in Vase
Bristol Post
|September 22, 2025
HALLEN put aside a torrid start to their Hellenic League Premier Division campaign to rout Milton United 8-1 at Moorhouse Lane in the second qualifying round of the FA Vase.
Hallen, sitting bottom of the table with two points from nine games, were 4-0 up after 20 minutes and 6-0 ahead at halftime. Indeed, it was 8-0 after 60 minutes, so their opponents from the Combined Counties League might be grateful it did not get any worse.
Harry Barter’s free-kick started the scoring in the seventh minute, then Syd Camper scored twice in quick succession. Elliot Gardner helped himself to a hat-trick before the break, then further goals followed from Cory Thomas-Barker and Harrison Fairman.
Fellow Hellenic Premier side Thornbury Town booked their place in the next round with a 3-1 win at home to Brislington on Friday night, where all the goals came in the first half.
Ash Ozua scored twice for Thorns, while Shea Mannings was on target for Bris.
Paulton Rovers, Longwell Green Sports and Mendip Broad-walk were all knocked out via penalty shootouts.
Paulton Rovers were beaten 4-2 on penalties at Ilminster Town following a goalless 90 minutes.
