Jewson/Hellenic Hallen march on in cup after tight tussle with Thorns

HALLEN edged out Thornbury Town 4-3 in an exciting Hellenic League Challenge Cup third-round tie at Moorhouse Lane.
After a poor start to the season, Hallen are now unbeaten in eight games after overturning a 2-1 halftime deficit to win via two strikes from Harrison Fairman and one apiece from Elliot Gardner and George King, who slotted home the winner on 87 minutes. Callum Chalmers scored the first two Thornbury goals, and Luke Garbacz added the third in the 81st minute.
Mangotsfield United eased into the next round with a 6-0 Cossham Street success against Division One side Malmesbury Victoria.
George kellow and Olly Sully struck in the first half for Mangotsfield, and further goals followed from George Neill (2), Sully and Michael Barry.
Roman Glass St George, top of the Hellenic Premier, were knocked out the cup following a 3-2 defeat at Worcester Raiders, having been 2-0 down at the break.
