Historically unprecedented! Not.

Bristol Post

November 04, 2025

THIS column is being written the Friday before it actually appears in print, and today (i.e. last Friday) the media is awash with stuff about the Prince Formerly Known as Andrew.

It's historically unprecedented, say the pundits!

Hmmm... If you want to know about major and minor royals being disgraced, sidelined and worse, perhaps you should google "act of attainder" or "Wars of the Roses" or ponder the fate of others who met more gruesome ends than Andy, whether in a butt of malmsey (allegedly) or under the headman's axe.

He is henceforth to be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and, we are told, his ouster from official and royal life and titles is now complete, that his disgrace is utter and entire.
