Disruption warning as road set to close overnight for works

BRISTOL motorists are set to face more summer disruption as works continue on a major commuter road.

The A4018 Passage Road will be closed northbound near Henbury, between Charlton Road and the Crow Lane roundabout, from 8pm until 5.30am each night from today until Friday.
The scheduled work is to upgrade a section of the road which was originally built with poor quality materials. It is part of a controversial wider project to improve the reliability of the number 1 bus service through Henbury, and to make cycling safer.
Work on the northbound section of the road is the continuation of a summer of disruption along Passage Road. The southbound section of the same part of the road was closed for three weeks between July 14 and August 1 for a similar upgrade to take place.
