Dental crisis New NHS slots only for those in pain

A BRISTOL dentist is opening up thousands of new appointments to NHS patients - but only to those who are suffering.
Lodge Causeway Dental Centre, in Fishponds, is offering between 5,000 and 7,000 additional appointments to patients experiencing urgent dental problems.
"We're delighted to be offering NHS dental care to patients across the Bristol area who currently don't have access to a dentist," practice owner Dr Reza Ardalan said. "Supporting our community in this way has been a key priority, and we're proud to play our part."
Crucially, however, the practice is not registering new NHS patients for ongoing care at this time. The Lodge Causeway practice confirmed it was able to offer single-issue urgent treatments, and in some cases short courses of treat-
ments in order to stabilise a patient's health.
