Court Man who robbed passenger on train is jailed

A KNIFE-WIELDING robber has been jailed after stealing a passenger's phone on board a train to Temple Meads.

Denzel Nyamutora, 25, pleaded guilty to robbery and two counts of possessing a bladed article after robbing and threatening an elderly man on board a train in Worle, North Somerset.

The court heard how on Thursday, April 17, Nyamutora boarded a train heading from Weston-super-Mare to Bristol Temple Meads at Worle station at around 2pm.

He walked past his soon-to-be victim, a 76-year-old man, and spotted his phone on the table.

Nyamutora walked to the next carriage, where he sat for a few moments before getting up and walking back into the carriage, past the victim. He then swiped the phone from the table and walked away.

The victim stood up and shouted after him, following him towards the train doors.

Nyamutora then pulled out a knife and brandished it in the victim's face, telling him to "f**k off"
