RHS CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW WINNER HAS DEMENTIA THEME
-
A GARDEN that won a silver medal and the People's Choice award at this year's RHS Chelsea Flower Show has a new home at Santhem Residences in Shenfield.
The garden was recently unveiled by Santhem Residences CEO, general manager and the designer of the dementia-themed garden, Tina Worboys.
The 'Alzheimer's Society: Microbes and Minds Garden' is inspired by peaceful orchards in rural England and explores the link between the gut microbiome and brain health, an emerging area for research into the prevention and treatment of dementia.
It will provide a calm, restorative outdoor space where residents and their families can come together to relax and enjoy time outdoors.
The garden also features forget-me-nots, a widely recognised symbol for people affected by dementia and the emblem of Alzheimer's Society's Forget Me Not Appeal, which launched last week.
