CONSULTATION RESULTS LEAD TO LIST OF RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE FUTURE

BOSTON Borough Council is progressing plans which could lead to the creation of a town or parish council for Boston.

These plans come as part of a community governance review, which is needed when there are potential changes to local governance, such as establishing councils or altering boundaries.

The review focuses on the unparished area of the town, where some services and functions are provided by Boston Town Area Committee, which operates under the borough council.

A public consultation took place with residents and interested parties from July 14 to August 26, 2025, and a set of recommendations have been developed.

These will be taken forward to a full council meeting, and subject to approval on January 12, 2026 from the council, another round of public consultation will take place.

The recommendations include establishing a single parish of Boston for the unparished area, covering the Boston Town Area Committee footprint.
