This year's ice rink scuppered after permission red tape

There will be no ice rink in Lytham this year.

Officials of the Lytham Business Partnership (LBP) have admitted defeat in their bid to bring back such a festive attraction to the town's Clifton Square.
Snags over highways regulations involving Lancashire County Council have brought about the cancellation despite it being given planning permission by Fylde Council.
Now LBP chairwoman Suzanne Taylor and colleagues are looking to bring an alternative festive attraction to the site, with the hope that the ice rink will be in place for 2026.
"It's desperately frustrating," said Suzanne.
