Petition launches demanding hotel returns to former glory

Blackpool South MP Chris Webb has launched a petition to have the Metropole Hotel restored as a tourist destination after almost five years of it housing migrant families.

Since September 2021, the distinctive seafront hotel - the only one in Blackpool on the seaward side of the promenade - has been used by the Home Office to house asylum seekers.
But Mr Webb has now been given government confirmation that the asylum seekers will leave the town's Metropole Hotel by July.
