'It feels fresh, original, and an authentic experiment'

Elizabeth Hurley and Robert Rinder chat mischief, glamour and gameplay in their new reality gameshow series The Inheritance. The show starts on Sunday on Channel 4.

Following the success of The Traitors, it's clear the British public has a taste for devious reality game shows staged in grand settings.
Now, a new contender is set to hit screens, brimming with mischief, strategy, and glamour, fronted by actress and model Elizabeth Hurley.
The Inheritance brings 13 strangers to a stately home, where they'll compete for a share of the fortune left by Hurley's character, "the Deceased," a fabulously glamorous benefactor.
Overseeing the stipulations of the Deceased's will is her executor, Robert Rinder, a criminal barrister best known for fronting ITV's Judge Rinder.
To win the money, the players must fulfil a series of final requests, as laid out in the Deceased's will.
However, only one contestant can claim the cash from each task, meaning they must persuade the others that they alone deserve the rewards they earned together.
Hurley, best known for her roles in Austin Powers and Bedazzled, believes viewers are in for a surprise.
"This is a new format, and yes, there might be echoes of other games, but it feels fresh, original, and like the birth of an authentic human experiment," says the 60-year-old Hampshire-born actress.
"I think people are going to be very surprised by what they're going to see."
In each episode, Hurley's character sets the contestants a task, delivered via VHS recording, that is unique to her grand country estate.
