Drops of kindness make up for all the hard work

've not much time to write this column, as nursing duties - and many household ones - are calling. In fact, it's my wife's voice that's softly cooing, if not exactly from her sick bed then in relaxed convalescence.

She Who Knows has undergone an important eye operation which, though seemingly successful, has left her requiring complete rest for several weeks. At least, that's what she claims the consultant told her. That's good, though, if a little frustrating for her-as well as requiring numerous and diverse eye drops, administered at different times, in one or the other eye. Still, as ever, She Who is well organised and has it impressively under control. She keeps a rota of 'drops' and times.
