Forget Tom Hardy, Brad Pitt, Leonard DiCaprio and push Robert Redford aside to make way for the silent movie star Rudolph Valentino - the king of matinee idols.

Not to be confused with Valentine's Day, Rudolph Valentino day is August 23 and commemorates the 1920s' film star of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, The Sheik and Son of the Sheik.
He also starred in Blood and Sand and A Sainted Devil.
His full name was Rudolfo Alfonzo Raffaelo Piero Filibert Guglielmi De Valentina D'Antonguolla. Bearing the nickname the Latin Lover, Valentino originally came from Italy and moved to the United States as he was turning 18 years old.
