A-level results were worse than regional average

The average A-level result in Blackpool was worse than the average across the North West last year, new figures show.

A-level results in Blackpool worse than the North West average

New figures from the Department for Education show the average point score for Blackpool A-level students in the last academic year was 32.7, higher than the 31.6 the year before.

This was lower than the average score across the North West of 35.3.

The average grade in Blackpool was a C+, up from C a year earlier, while across England, the average grade remained at B-.

The average point score across the country improved marginally, from 35.6 in 2023-24 to 35.9 last year.
