Sweet memories of Blue Bird toffee - a delight of yesteryear

Upcoming talk on the famous factory near Halesowen

BLACKHEATH and Rowley Local Interest Group's May 2025 talk should appeal to any Black Country folk with a sweet tooth - its theme is 'The Blue Bird Factory'.

The talk by Julian Hunt will explore the history of the famous sweet factory at Romsley, just outside Halesowen in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside (though the tins always said 'Hunnington'.) With its impressive frontage and landmark chimney stack, Harry Vincent's factory was the place of employment for hunreds of Black Country women and men, producing the world famous Blue Bird toffee.
