Blow away the cobwebs with a ride on Winter Diesel Day

AFTER taking a well-deserved day off on Christmas Day so its volunteers can enjoy the festivities, the Severn Valley Railway will once again spring into life with a packed programme of post-Christmas events.

From Friday 26 to Sunday 28 December, and from Tuesday 30 December to Friday 2 January, visitors can shake off the Christmas cobwebs and step aboard the railway's festive services. These atmospheric trains offer the chance to enjoy authentic heritage travel in cosy, steam-heated carriages, and to take in the wintry scenery of the Severn Valley.

Monday 29 December sees the return of the Winter Diesel Day, which is expected to attract enthusiasts from across the country. Featuring home-fleet favourites alongside visiting locomotives, the event promises a packed timetable between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth, including multiple opportunities to see rare traction in action.
