New Peaky Blinders series to be filmed in Brum

THE new series of Peaky Blinders has been confirmed - and it will be shot in Birmingham for the first time.

A new spin-off series will start filming soon, set in the 1950s, and will be shot in Birmingham, home of the Shelbys, writer and creator Steven Knight has exclusively revealed.
The acclaimed drama will definitely be back, he confirmed, ending months of speculation.
"There is a new series and what's really great for Birmingham is that, like the film, it will be shot here," he said.
Knight hinted that Cilian Murphy, as head of the family Thomas Shelby, could be involved, though said more details would emerge ahead of a series premiere.
The new series will be focused on the antics of the next generation of peaky blinders, he said.
It will be set in the 1950s the era of teddy boys and gangsters like the Krays with locations in and around the Knight-backed new Digbeth Loc film and TV studios.
