SPANISH carmaker Cupra has delivered a copper-bottomed hit with its new Taviscan as it bids to outshine the competition in the electric SUV market.

Not only is it sleek and curvaceous on the outside but the interior of the higher trim levels is strikingly dramatic with a real wow factor thanks to the liberal use of large copper-coloured inserts on the dashboard and doors.

Rally-style seats with V-shaped cutouts in the same copper trim add to the overall effect, as does the striking whale tail-shaped centre consol.

And after dark myriad tiny LEDs in each door panel lining each reflecting the shape of the Cupra logo light up to captivate unsuspecting passengers.

Cleverly, whatever colour you set them for they automatically turn red as you open the door to warn passing motorists you're about to get out.
