Why Birmingham drivers are curious but cautious about electric cars
Birmingham Mail

GROWING NUMBERS OF DRIVERS IN THE CITY EITHER OWN, HAVE OWNED, OR ARE CONSIDERING AN EV FOR THEIR NEXT CAR
-
In Birmingham, the biggest barrier to people switching to electric vehicles (EVs) isn’t a lack of interest.
Many drivers are open to the idea of going electric, but few have actually sat behind the wheel of one.
Without real-world experience, gaps in knowledge are being filled with misconceptions about performance, range, and practicality.
Birmingham drivers who are curious but haven’t yet made the switch can experience electric driving firsthand without any pressure.
Ford is bringing its Go Electric roadshow to the Bullring from October 1 to 5, giving locals the opportunity to step inside the world of electric vehicles.
Visitors will be able to explore the latest models, ask experts their burning questions, and most importantly, get behind the wheel for a test drive. It’s all about turning curiosity into confidence.
One of the most persistent worries is “range anxiety” - the fear that an EV won't cover day-to-day journeys.
Local research by Ford UK* shows that many sceptical drivers are underestimating how far electric cars can actually go.
