MARINE INJURED IN AFGHANISTAN RAISES £6K DURING CHARITY WALK

Paul Vice leaving Exeter and, inset, celebrating at the finish with family
A BRAVE Royal Marine who survived more than 400 separate injuries in an Afghan explosion has completed a gruelling 250-mile charity walk which took him through the entire West Midlands.
Paul Vice, 42, astonishingly lived through the blast that left him with more than 100 significant wounds and caused him to 'die' twice during his airlift back to Camp Bastion in 2011.
His remarkable recovery was documented in The Commando Who Refused To Die TV documentary, but he has now conquered what he calls his “toughest mental and physical challenge” yet.
He triumphantly finished his epic charity endeavour, walking from his home in Exeter, Devon, all the way to Manchester, raising funds for FORCE Cancer Charity.
However, his planned 300ft bungee jump finale was thwarted by Storm Amy.
Despite having a prosthetic leg, Paul exceeded his initial goal of 232 miles, covering 250 miles on his ten-day journey to Tatton Park, passing through Taunton, Bristol, Monmouth, Hereford, Ludlow, Shrewsbury, Whitchurch and Crewe.
