Royal Mail delivering widespread redesign of pillar boxes

LOCALS have been left scratching their heads after a number of local pillar boxes were seemingly dismantled and then covered up in black film.

Many classic red boxes across the Midlands, which have lined our streets for decades, have been taken out of use and now bear a sign stating: "Out Of Use Automated System Coming Soon."

Royal Mail is currently rolling out 3,500 solar-powered postboxes across the country which will allow the public to send small parcels.
